Meet our founder
Monique Courbet
Monique Courbet, the founder of Courbet Beauty, has been in the beauty industry for over 20 years. An award winning Aesthetician two years in a row and the founder of an award winning 5 star Spa, Hair Studio and Wellness Center. Monique is knowledgeable on the ins and outs of her career.
Monique graduated from Aesthetics school in 2004, where she then worked for beauty lines such as Clinique, Shiseido, Lancôme, Estée Lauder, Elizabeth Arden, Chanel, Dior Cosmetics, Biotherm, Clarins and Make up Forever. While working with these companies and providing spa services in her own spa, she felt the need to turn to a more natural approach. Monique then opened her own spa, in a city 30 minutes outside of Toronto, that would be completely plant based, all natural and locally made. This would be the first spa and hair studio of its kind at the time. With her passion for all natural skin care to help keep her clients and the environment safe, she began to curate a collection of Canadian made beauty products to retail in her spa’s boutique.
In February 2020, Monique welcomed her first daughter Emilie into the world. When the pandemic hit shortly after and her business closed to the public during lock downs, she took an online course from the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC for Beauty Industry Essentials. Monique knew she wanted to create something for her daughter’s future while times seemed so uncertain.
With her 20 years experience in the industry, Monique felt it was time to create a skin care line of her own that held similar values to brands she was used to working with, while creating a luxury experience in the all natural, plant based beauty industry.
